Our Programs

Food For Thought

About the program

Food For Thought is a program that will be delivered by Growing Together South Coast with funding from Australia Post. The program’s aim is to increase wellbeing through participation in sustainable food production and wellbeing workshops.

The program is being run in two groups throughout Autumn. There will also be a few larger group events, crop swaps and an end of program harvest feast with participants' friends and family.

Gardens have long been considered places of healing. Interaction with nature, plants and the fulfillment gained through growing food has been documented to improve the physical and mental well being of participants, no matter age, background or ability.

Our program will teach participants how to grow and harvest their own regeneratively grown food in a safe, small group environment.

Part of our program will include Seasons for Growth, a small group education program that supports adults to develop the knowledge, skills and attitudes to understand and respond well to experiences of change, loss and grief. This program will run for 8 weeks, coinciding with the rest of the program.
